Our International Students attended and delivered speech at the Fourth“China ASEAN Cancer Prevention and Control Program”and APEC Workshop
Recently, the Fourth“China ASEAN Cancer Prevention and Control Program”and APEC Workshop on Strengthening prevention & Control of Cervical Cancer and Enabling Sustainable Economic Advancement was held at Shenzhen, China. There are 5 PhD students from our school participated online. Among them, was Maria J. Gonzalez, an astute and final year PhD student from Chile who presented a topic titled “The Potential Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Guided Digital Colposcopy Cloud Platform in the Covid-19 Pandemic.”
Experts from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and other institutions such as domestic oncology experts, scholars, the World Health Organization Department of Reproductive Health and Research, the National Institutes of Health and other internationally renowned experts, as well as foreign students from 10 countries through online and offline participation in the meeting. This workshop was with an aim to support health professionals’ knowledge attainment and practical capability for cancer prevention activities, by drawing on the effective experience of comprehensive prevention and control combined with vaccination and screening in various countries, and put forward practical suggestions for building and consolidating cervical cancer prevention and control capacity in developing countries.
The students attended workshop are coming from global health family on campus. They continue to engage on global health and cancer prevention messages via various media in order to raise and increase the awareness level.
