1. AIMS OF THE PROGRAM
Equip the students with international ideas and visions, clinical skills, humanistic quality, lifelong learning desires, increase their understanding, friendliness and devotion of China. Enable the students to carry out international medical practice effectively under the superior doctor’s guidance, to become independent practitioners through further post-graduation education and vocational training, to enrich their knowledge and improve their skills constantly in order to meet the needs of the international medical talent market, and to turn into competitive practical talents.
2. INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM
Students should have the following knowledge, abilities and qualities that meet the requirements of the quality control standard (trial) for medical undergraduate education (teaching in English) of international students in China.
(1) Professional ethics and attainment
(2) Mastering basic knowledge and scientific methods in medical science, social science, life science, etc.
(3) Mastering basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills in basic medicine and clinical medicine; being able to use knowledge in diagnosis and treatment of common or frequently-occurring diseases, analyze disease etiologies and categorize pathologies; having certain preventive medicine knowledge
(4) Basic theories and skills in identification & classification for human disease etiologies and pathologies
(5) Basic diagnosis, first aid and treatment abilities in emergency, difficult and severe diseases
(6) Basic knowledge in oral medicine
(7) Basic knowledge and skills in forensic medicine
(8) Basic theoretical knowledge in TCM
(9) Preliminary understanding on international health care and policy
(10) Grasping and using basic Chinese and Chinese medicine; knowing about China and etc.
3. EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM AND TIME ALLOCATION
Six-year standard schooling system and credit system management. The longest length of schooling is 8 years (span of suspension of schooling is included into the studying time in the school for students except conscripts).
Time allocation. A total of 254 weeks, including 139 weeks of teaching, 48 weeks of internship, 16 weeks of examination, 3 weeks of training and graduate education, 11 weeks of social practice, 28 weeks of vacation, 9 weeks for flexible arrangement. See the table below:

5. MAIN SUBJECTS AND COURSES
Main subjects: basic medicine and clinical medicine.
Main courses: human anatomy, embryology, biochemistry, physiology, medical immunology, medical microbiology, pathology, pharmacology, clinical diagnostics, internal medicine, surgery, surgical operation, neurology & psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics.
6. CURRICULUM
The curriculum is divided into three modules: general courses, professional basic courses, professional courses; a total of 15 sets of courses.
(1) General courses
Application ability course set: Chinese (including Chinese medicine), computer application, etc.
Mental and body quality course set: sports, medical psychology, etc.
Humanistic quality course set: medical ethics, such as introduction to China, international health care and policy
General basic course set: medical basic chemistry, advanced mathematics, medical physics, etc.
(2) Professional basic courses
Morphological course set: human systemic anatomy, embryology, pathology, human regional anatomy, etc.
Functional course set: physiology, physiopathology, pharmacology, etc.
Etiological course set: medical immunology, clinical immunology, medical microbiology, parasitology, etc.
Life science course set: biochemistry, cell biology, etc.
Preventive medicine course set: epidemiology, hygiene, medical statistics, etc.
(3) Professional courses
Clinical auxiliary course set: ultrasonics, laboratory diagnostics, medical imaging, nuclear medicine, etc.
Professional skills course set: clinical diagnosis, surgical operation, etc.
Clinical medicine course set: internal medicine, surgery, gynecology & obstetrics, pediatrics, neurology & psychiatry, epidemiology, E.N.T, dermatovenereology, ophthalmology, etc.
Clinical medicine auxiliary course set: oral science, forensic medicine, rehabilitation medicine, etc.
Traditional medicine courses: traditional Chinese medicine
7. PRACTICAL TEACHING
(1) Basic experiment
Adopt basic experiments for validation of theoretical knowledge. Adopt comprehensive design experiments for cultivation of the students' experimental skills and improvement of their practical ability and scientific research qualifications. Main contents include: basic skills training in general courses, basic course experimental teaching, and clinical professional skills training in some professional courses, and etc.
(2) Clinical probation
Clinical probation refers to practical teaching activity of clinical medicine specialized courses, which is a bridge from basic theoretical study to clinical practice. In clinical probationary, under the guidance of teachers, students will obtain perceptual knowledge of clinical common diseases and frequent diseases, consolidate theory knowledge learned, combine theory with practice, understand basic flows of hospital management and medical work, and cultivate clinical thinking.
(3) Clinical internship
In the 12th semester, personalized teaching and training are adopted, including voluntary choice of elective courses and internship fields; preparation of medical practitioners exam; research in interested fields.
(4) Second classroom
Students will participate in the second classroom activities regularly, which can strongly complement and support the teaching plan. Contents include: students' holiday social practice activities, academic lectures and academic activities, academic competitions, cultural activities and sports activities, and etc.
8. BASIC FRAMEWORK OF THE TEACHING PLAN
Teaching plan sets 3497 credit hours and 188 credits for compulsory courses. In the compulsory courses, there are 2516 credit hours for theoretical courses and 981 credit hours for practical courses, 1920 credit hours and 48 credits for internship, and 600 credit hours and 10 credits for strengthened training of 12th semester. The elective courses have more than 632 credit hours and 40 credits, of which, restricted elective courses have 312 credit courses and 20 credits, and free elective courses have more than 160 credit courses and 10 credits.

9. GRADUATION AND DEGREE AWARDED
(1) Evaluation. All courses shall be evaluated, and evaluation methods include test, exam and etc.
(2) Graduation exam. The graduation exam is made after the internship. The subjects evaluated include internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and neurology. Main exam contents are students’ abilities to use knowledge in analyzing and resolving problems.
(3) In case of completing all courses with satisfactory results in evaluations and 30 credits in elective courses as well as complying with the relevant management regulations in the University, the students can graduate with the bachelor's degree; when complying with measures for implementation of granting the bachelor’s degree, the student can be granted with bachelor’s degree in medicine, certificate of graduation, and copy of certificate of bachelor’s degree (English version).
(4)Pass HSK 4.
10. EXECUTING INSTRUCTIONS
(1) Elective courses include: restricted and free elective courses, and the 10th semester’s comprehensive strengthening courses. 50 credits must be obtained, of which, 20 credits from elective courses in first 9 semesters and 10 credits from strengthening courses in 12th semester.
(2) 1 credit per 40 hours of internship; 1 credit per 60 hours in internship in selected courses and researches.
