The International Education College of Dalian Medical University was founded in May 2005. It is an administrative and teaching institute responsible for the enrollment of self-supported degree programs, scholarship programs and short-term programs, the teaching affairs of self-supported undergraduate programs conducting in English medium, self-supported and scholarship graduate programs conducting in English medium, service and administration of all-level international students ,as well the teaching and research of Chinese language.

The college consists of College Affairs Office, Teaching Affairs Office, International Student Affairs Office, Admission Office, International Dorm center and Chinese Language Center. It has a professional administration team with rich experience.

History

The international education of DMU was started in 1985 on the basis of Chinese language program and medical short-term programs.

In 2004, the university launched MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) program in English medium and started to recruit international students for degree program.

In June 2007, college became more driven to its purposes when it was evaluated by the Ministry of Education of China, and became one of the thirty schools that excel in teaching international students in the English medium.

In 2009, the university was led into a brand-new stage when it was approved by the Ministry of Education to recruit international students with Chinese Government Scholarship, as well as being assessed to be an international education advanced institute in Liaoning province.

In 2011, China approves DMU to qualify in enrolling self-assessed government scholarship students, China-Russia humanity scholarship students, and China-America humanity scholarship students.

In 2012, DMU was graded by Liaoning Education Department to be one of the five international education model universities in Liaoning.

In 2013, DMU was assessed to be the first batch of international education model university nationwide.

In 2014, DMU was conferred National Advanced Organization for International Education.

Students

Over a decade, DMU has shown extraordinary progress toward international education. To July,2021, there are 967 international students enrolled in DMU with graduates students reaching to 20%. Our international students come from all across the five continents of the world for over 100 countries. 2383 international students from 37 countries has graduated successfully until now and are now making contribution all over the world.

Programs

International education has become one of the most distinguished features of DMU. Having educational programs as the main focus, assisted by short-term learning programs, DMU is a multi-dimensional teaching university that includes pre-med program, bachelor degree programs, master degree programs, doctoral degree programs, and advanced learning programs. DMU mainly offers programs in the English-medium, and as well as programs in the Chinese-medium to fulfill the needs of different students.

Recognition

DMU is a public university, authorized by Education of Ministry to enroll foreign students last century. The awarded degrees are recognized by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China. The degrees are also widely accepted and recognized in the world.

Our university has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health/Education or Medical Council of 45 countries across the globe.
