Spring sets the stage, and all things harmonize. On April 16, the International Education College hosted the 2025 "Blossoming on the Medical Path" Welcome Gala for International Ph.D. Supervisors at the university gymnasium.

Attending the event were Li Haiyang, Secretary of the University Party Committee; Vice Presidents Shao Shujuan, Xia Yunlong, Yang Xiaoli, Liu Zhiyu, and Sun Zhibo; Zhang Lin, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department; international Ph.D. supervisors, representatives from various university departments, DMU alumni, and guests who support the development of international medical education at our university.

In the spring of 2025, DMU welcomed 103 new international students from 10 countries and regions. To date, the university has 1,228 enrolled international students, with degree-seeking students accounting for 99.5%-the highest proportion among medical universities nationwide. International postgraduate students make up 16.4%, and the total number of source countries has reached 119, far surpassing other medical institutions in China.

Teachers are the foundation of education and the source of its advancement. Currently, DMU has over 120 international postgraduate supervisors who have made outstanding contributions to cultivating high-level global medical talents and advancing the quality of medical education for international students.

The gala brought together international Ph.D. supervisors, faculty, and students from the International Education College, showcasing their vibrant spirit. It not only extended a warm welcome to the 2025 cohort of international students but also conveyed a deep sense of care to those far from home.

2025 marks the final year of the "14th Five-Year Plan," the decisive year for Liaoning's Three-Year Action for Comprehensive Revitalization, and the 20th anniversary of the International Education College at DMU. Moving forward, the university will continue to actively serve national diplomatic strategies, further optimize the structure of international education programs, meticulously cultivate high-level talents, and deepen the "Study at DMU" brand to foster a network of outstanding alumni who understand and cherish China.
