International Education College (International Exchange and Cooperation Center) Held Spring Festival-Themed Celebration Activities

On January 21st, which was exactly Chinese New Year's Eve. International Education College held a series of Chinese Spring Festival-Themed activities in dorm 19, to make international students enjoy Chinese New Year and experience the culture of China. Liu Xiaodong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dalian Medical University, Tian Xiaofeng, assisant to the president, Liu Jingwei, director of Propaganda department ,Yu Xuelin, director of Party and Government Affairs office, Li Liang, vice director of Party and Government Affairs office, came to international students' apartment to celebrate Spring Festival with international students together. The inheritors of Dalian Intangible Cultural Heritage were specially invited to exchange intangible culture with international students. Lu Wei, dean of School of International Education College (International Exchange and Cooperation Center), Guo Yanqiu, vice dean of International Education College (International Exchange and Cooperation Center), and some other teachers of college attended the event. More than 40 international students from Iran, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and other countries experienced the folk customs and the charm of traditional festival in China.

This event started in a burst of laughter. The inheritors of intangible cultural heritage first showed us exquisite intangible cultural skills. Subsequently, under the guidance of the inheritors, international students experienced the fun of dough figurine, bean painting and paper cutting. The vivid dough figurine, bean painting and paper cutting carried the students' good wishes for the Year of Rabbit.

On behalf of the university, Liu Xiaodong sent Spring Festival condolences to international students. University leaders concerned the students about their study and life, and told them to make reasonable arrangements for winter holidays, pay attention to travel safety, and have a safe and peaceful Chinese New Year.

Dalian TV followed to report the whole event. Many international students were interviewed by Dalian TV. In the interview, they expressed their gratitude to our university and college, their interest to Chinese traditional culture and beautiful vision for the future.

At present, there are more than 1,000 international students who studies in Dalian Medical University. International Education College will continue to hold a series of New Year activities during the winter vacation to cultivate the feelings of "Understand China, be Friendly to China, and Love China" among international students.
