As the bell of the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Snake is about to ring, on the morning of January 28, our school held a colorful Spring Festival event in Building 19 of the International Student Apartment. Vice President Shao Shujuan, Director of the Party and Government Office Yu Xuelin, Minister of the Party Committee Security Work Department Chen Hong, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Logistics Management Office Wang Yuenian, Dean of the International Education College Lu Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Direct Party Branch Guo Yanqiu, Vice President Gao Peng, and teachers from the International Education College, celebrate the Spring Festival with more than 50 international students from Iran, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Yemen and other countries. These activities not only enrich the winter vacation school life of international students, but also allow international students to feel the Chinese New Year atmosphere and appreciate the charm of traditional culture.

At the beginning of the event, international students actively participated in the pot throwing game. Pot throwing is a throwing game in ancient China, testing participants' eyesight and hand strength. The international students held wooden arrows, aimed at the target, and tried hard to throw the arrows into the pot. From time to time, warm cheers burst out on the scene. This game not only increases the fun of the event, but also allows international students to feel the wisdom and fun of Chinese traditional culture.
Paper-cutting is a type of Chinese folk art, and has attracted many foreign students with its unique charm. Under the guidance of the teacher, the students were concentrating on cutting window flowers. As the scissors on the red paper danced, all the images were vividly displayed on the paper. Mu Zhiyan, an international student from Iraq, said excitedly: "Paper cutting is so interesting. A piece of paper can show such a variety of beautiful patterns. I heard that paper cutting patterns symbolize good luck and blessings in Chinese culture, so I decided to bring this paper cutting back and give it to my family."

After the paper cutting, the students continued to experience the process of making sugar paintings. Sugar painting is a traditional Chinese folk snack, and is loved by people for its unique production craftsmanship and sweet taste. At today's event, international students had the opportunity to taste the sugar paintings and learn about the production process. The master sugar painting has brought small animals to everyone with his skillful hands, making international students impressed by the charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Vice Principal Shao Shujuan sent New Year's greetings to international students on behalf of the school. She cordially asked about the study and life of the international students during the winter vacation, and encouraged everyone to combine work and rest during the holiday, arrange their work and rest reasonably, and spend a happy, safe and fulfilling winter vacation.
Dalian TV conducted a full follow-up report on the event. In an interview, Dinit, an international student from Sri Lanka, said: "Thanks to the International Education Institute for arranging this event for us. We were unable to return home during this winter vacation, but we also felt the atmosphere of the New Year and the warmth of home in the school. I wish you all good health and smooth academic performance in the new year."

This Spring Festival event enriched the winter vacation life of international students, helped international students experience the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture, and enhanced international students' understanding and love for Chinese culture. In the new year, the International School of Education will further enrich the activities, help international students experience Chinese traditional culture and build a platform for Sino-foreign exchanges.
