Application Procedures for DMU 2024

Chinese Government Scholarship-High Level Postgraduate Program (TYPE B)

 

Chinese Government Scholarship-High Level Postgraduate Program is a full scholarship established by Ministry of Education, P.R.C to support designated Chinese universities to enroll outstanding international students for graduate studies in China.

 

Ⅰ. Introduction

● Quotas and Categories

1. Dalian Medical University (DMU) will offer the Chinese Government Scholarship -High Level Postgraduate Program for doctor or master degree students in 2024.

This scholarship only supports graduate programs. Scholarship duration is three years for master’s programs and four years for doctoral programs.

2. Most programs at DMU are instructed in English, and DMU also offer one-year long Chinese Course for Master’s students who do not have HSK4 Certificate.

3. The scholarship duration specified in the Admission Notice, covering major study, cannot be extended in general.

4. Students are not permitted, in principle, to apply to change their specialties, institutions or the duration of study as specified in the Admission Notice.

● Qualifications

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2. Education background and age limit:

- Applicants for master degree programs must have bachelor's degree and be generally under the age of 35.

- Applicants for doctor degree programs must have master's degree and be under the age of 40.

3. Language requirement:

HSK4 certificate (within 5 years) is required for the degree program.

English certification is required for the English-taught program.

3.1 Submit a TOEFL or IELTS transcript, in principle.

3.2 Applicants that use English as the language of instruction at the last education background, submit the language certificate issued by the last education institutions instead

3.3 Applicants from countries where English is the official language are exempt from proof of English language proficiency.

3.4 For the PhD and Master applicants, the final department could evaluate your language level according to the interview or written test.

● Details of the Scholarship

1. Exempt from tuition, accommodation on campus;

2. Monthly allowance is offered as followings:

  * Master Degree Students:  3,000 CNY/month  

  * Doctor Degree Students:  3,500 CNY/month

3. Other expenses for study in China, such as international travel expenses, cost of physical examination, medical insurance, visa extension and utility costs for on-campus accommodation, and cost of course materials, should be borne by the scholarship recipients themselves.

4. Within the scholarship duration, registered scholarship students will receive a stipend from their host university each month. Students registering on or before the 15th of the month will receive a full stipend of that month. Those who register after the 15th of the month will receive a half stipend of that month. Graduating students will receive stipend until half month after the graduation date. If registered student stays out of China for more than 15 days due to a personal reason (school holidays excluded), the stipend will be stopped during his/her leaving.

 

Ⅱ. Application Procedures and Time

1. The applicants shall submit the online application by IEC, DMU portal (https://dmu.17gz.org/member/login.do) from December 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023

2. The applicants must fill in and provide the following materials truly and correctly, you are required to upload soft documents on IEC, DMU portal. There is no need to mail paper application materials. Acceptance letter is mandatory for Master’s students, otherwise your application is canceled:

 

III. Application Documents

1. Compulsory Documents:

(1) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship(in Chinese or English, download from https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn). Note: agency No. of DMU is 10161.

(2) Application Form of Dalian Medical University(in Chinese or English, download from https://dmu.17gz.org/member/login.do

(3) Passport copy(information page, empty visa page or Chinese visa pages if have)

(4) Notarized highest diploma (photocopy); Notarized highest diploma (notarized photocopy). If applicants are university students, they shall also provide studying certificates. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

(5) Academic transcripts (From the undergraduate program onwards). Academic records from first to the last semester during the undergraduate, graduate (if any), and the doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. The transcript shall be issued and sealed by the graduate university’s academic affairs office or student management department. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

(6) A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English with a minimum of 1500 words. (must include your specific research field and content)

(7) Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.

(8) A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant. The form designed by the Chinese quarantine authority can be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org). The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

(9) Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose it in the application package. English proficiency certificate, e.g. TOFEL or IELTS.

(10) CV (Personal Information, Skills & Qualities, Education Background, Work Experience, if possible, Languages Skills, Academic Publication if possible, etc. included)

(11) Police Clearance (No Crime Record)

2. Optional Documents:

(1) Acceptance Letter (supervisors have)

(2) List of Publications, which should state impact factor and journal name, author order. Provide the copy of the papers. (for Master and PhD)

(3) Other certificates you have been awarded.

 

 IV. Selection and Notification

A comprehensive review will be conducted on applicant's academic record, language proficiency, overall merits, research achievements and their prospective supervisor's comments. The shortlisted candidates will be submitted to China Scholarship Council for final approval.

The final results will be published at https://iec.dmu.edu.cnin early August. Scholarships awardees will be notified via email. Admission Notices and Visa Application Forms for Study (JW201) will be sent out afterwards.

If applicants fail to register before the deadline for registration, their scholarship will not be reserved.


V. Admission Notice and Enrollment Time

The admission notice will be issued to the applicants at the end of July, 2024, and enrollment time will be September, 2024.

 

 VI. Specific declaration

1. DMU won’t authorize any agent or any person to recruit the government scholarship program.

2. Applicants should apply directly to Dalian Medical University and cannot submit application document through any intermediary agencies.

3. Application is totally free.
